Claudia Takla has been drawing and designing costumes and clothes all her life and sewing for three years.
Recently Claudia has worked at the Library of Costume and Design, cataloguing costume books and assisting with the construction of the costumes for the Christine Walsh Dance Centre production of Swan Lake.
Over the course of this school year, Claudia will be working on designs for a male and female couple: Amalgamares. These costumes have been designed for a fantasy world where history and culture meet, showing aspects of Arab and Japanese civilisations, Buccaneer dress, Spanish-American clothing as well as Ancient Egyptian and Minoan design.
Claudia will be focusing and enhancing her skills in all areas of costume design especially construction, jewellery making and pattern drafting.
Claudia's role in this event is Venue Manager. She will need all her communication and organisational skills learned during her Diploma of Library and Information studies to research and find a suitable venue for this year's parade.
